Dexter Odeneal

Dexter is a Licensed Social worker who received his Master's in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. He has an extensive experience working with those with mental health disorders, behavioral health, crisis intervention and trauma for children, teens, adults who also have experienced an extensive amount of physical and sexual abuse. He has also worked with adults having co-occurring disorders.
Dexter's approach to therapy is a non-judgmental, open and validating experience when working with his clients and couples struggling with marital issues. His spirit of humility and connection has been his gift to connecting with clients. His passionate interventions and theories are Cognitive behavioral therapy to assist clients who struggle with depression and anxiety. Dialectical behavioral therapy with efforts to treat personality disorders and interpersonal conflicts.Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) in which helps children address distorted or upsetting beliefs and attributions and learn skills to help them cope with ordinary life stressors. What Dexter enjoys most about being a clinician is seeing the growth, connection and implantation of skills clients learn in sessions and applying them to their day to day lives. He loves to see clients unpack and recognize their own strengths and reach personal goals clients have set when coming into therapy. In his free time Dexter loves to work out at the gym, he practices boxing, jujitsu and loves spending time with his wife and daughter
